Guy Decomble

Guy Decomble (born November 12, 1910 in Aulnay-sous-Bois , † August 14, 1964 in Châtellerault ) was a French actor .

Life

Decomble took his first film role back in 1932, but his roles were initially to remain small during the 1930s. Only in the post-war period was he able to assert himself as a film actor. He played his first role as the easy-going fair dealer Roger in Jacques Tati's comedy Tati's Schützenfest from 1949. In French cinema in the 1950s, Decomble took on a number of high-profile supporting roles, including two important Nouvelle Vague classics from 1959 : As a bad-tempered bookseller in Claude Chabrol's Scream, if you can, and as an authoritarian French teacher in François Truffauts, they kissed and they beat him . After around 60 films and a few television appearances, Guy Decomble died in 1964 at the age of only 53.
