Guy Dollé
Guy Dollé (born October 31, 1942 in Roye-sur-Matz , Département Oise , France ) is a French manager . From 2002 to 2006 he was CEO of the steel group Arcelor .
biography
Dollé was born the son of an art glass. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Metz in northern France. He later studied at the École polytechnique in Paris . In 1966 he worked at the Irsid steel industry research center in Metz. In 1976 he married. In 1980 he joined the management of the Usinor steel company and became head of the “Sheets and Pipes” division. From April to May 1993 he was CEO of Saarstahl AG , after filing for bankruptcy he had to resign. In the same year he became CEO and Chairman of Usinor. In 1995 he became Executive Vice President responsible for "Planning and International Relations". In 1997 he was appointed for the division "stainless steels and alloys". In 1999 he became Senior Executive Vice President of the group. In 2002, following the merger of Arbed and Aceralia with Usinor, he became the Group's Chief Executive Officer. After the hostile takeover of Arcelor by the Mittal Steel Company on June 25, 2006, Lakshmi Mittal took over the post of managing director.
Dollé has a son and a daughter.
