Guy David Innes-Ker, 10th Duke of Roxburghe (born November 18, 1954 in Edinburgh , Scotland - † August 29, 2019 ) was a British nobleman .

Life

In 1974 he followed his father as Duke of Roxburghe and as such was hereditary member of the House of Lords until 1999 . He attended Eton College and Magdalene College at Cambridge University , where he studied economics . Innes-Ker then served in the British Army and attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst , where he was awarded the Sword of Honor in 1974 . That year he became a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals .

He was also Premier Baronet of Nova Scotia, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and Freeman of the City of London . He lived in Floors Castle , Kelso , Roxburghshire .

family

Innes-Ker was the older son of George Innes-Ker, 9th Duke of Roxburghe (1913–1974), and his second wife (Margaret) Elisabeth McConnel (1918–1993). He was married twice. On September 10, 1977 he married Lady Jane Meriel Grosvenor (* 1953; since 1996 Lady Jane Dawnay), the younger daughter of Robert Grosvenor, 5th Duke of Westminster ; the couple divorced in 1990. They have two sons and a daughter together. The Duke was married to Virginia Mary Wynn-Williams since 1992; he had a son and a daughter with her.

When he died in 2019, his eldest son from his first marriage, Charles , inherited his title of nobility.
