Guy Raynaud de Lage

Guy Raynaud de Lage (born December 5, 1905 , † December 27, 1993 in Royat ) was a French Romanist and Medievalist .

life and work

Guy Raynaud de Lage graduated from the École normal supérieure and was initially a high school teacher. In 1947 he completed his habilitation in Paris with the thesis Alain de Lille, poète du XIIe siècle (Montréal / Paris 1951) and became professor of French language and literature in the Middle Ages in Clermont-Ferrand . In 1975 he retired .

Guy Raynaud de Lage was co-founder (1937) and General Secretary (1937-1948) of the SGEN (Syndicat général de l'éducation nationale).
