Guy Savoy (born July 24, 1953 in Nevers ) is a French nouvelle cuisine chef and restaurateur. He is the head chef and owner of the Guy Savoy restaurants named after him in the Hotel Caesars Palace in Las Vegas / USA and in Paris / France, both of which have been awarded by the Michelin Guide . Savoy owns other restaurants in Paris and Porto Arabia / Qatar, and until February 2014 he also ran one in Singapore.

Life

Guy Savoy spent three years as an apprentice with the Troisgros brothers , then ran his first restaurant in New York City. In 1980 he opened the Guy Savoy in Paris, which received two Michelin stars in 1985 and three stars in 2002. The Guy Savoy in Las Vegas, opened in 2005, has also received several awards, including two Michelin stars. Le Chiberta in Paris has a Michelin star. The British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay , who worked for Guy Savoy in Paris at times, calls him his culinary mentor. Mario Lohninger worked at Guy Savoy Paris from 1996 to 1997. In 2008, Guy Savoy was awarded the Order of Merit Officer of the Legion of Honor .
