The Guyou Bay ( French Baie Guyou ) is a 6 km wide bay on the west coast of the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago . It is between Cape Claude and Metchnikoff Point .
The bay was discovered during the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903–1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . This named the bay after Captain Émile Guyou (1843-1915) of the French Navy , member of the commission for the publication of the scientific results of the research trip .
