Olecko-Kolonia is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , part of the urban and rural community Olecko (Marggrabowa , colloquially also Oletzko , 1928 to 1945 Treuburg) in the powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district 1933 to 1945 ).

Geographical location

Olecko-Kolonia is located in the east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the western city limits of Olecko .

history

Nothing is documented about the origin of the Olecko-Kolonia settlement, not even about any history from the time before 1945 or a German name. There is an assumption that the place was only created after 1945. Today it is integrated into the Schulzenamt ( Polish sołectwo ) Jaśki (Jaschken , 1938 to 1945 Jesken) and thus belongs to the network of the urban and rural municipality Olecko in the Powiat Olecki , until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Olecko-Kolonia is parish in the Catholic parish church in Olecko in the Diocese of Ełk ( German  Lyck ) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents orientate themselves to the churches in Ełk and Gołdap in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Olecko-Kolonia is located on the voivodeship road DW 655 , which connects the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship with the Podlaskie Voivodeship . In the immediate vicinity is the intersection of DW 655 with the important Polish traffic axis, the state road DK 65 (former German Reichsstraße 132 ), which was newly laid here as a bypass road for the city of Olecko some time ago .

The Marggrabowa – Kruglanken ( Polish: Olecko – Kruklanki ) railway ran through the local area until 1945 , but was no longer put into operation as a result of the war. The next train station today is the Olecko city train station, which is only in operation today for freight traffic in the Ełk – Olecko section of the Ełk – Tschernjachowsk ( German  Lyck – Insterburg ) line.
