Lipkowo ( German  Lindenhof ) is a small town in the Polish Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural community of Olecko (Marggrabowa , colloquially also Oletzko , 1928 to 1945 Treuburg) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district from 1933 to 1945 ) .

Geographical location

Lipkowo is located within the border area of ​​the urban and rural community Olecko to the rural community Wieliczki (Wielitzken , 1938 to 1945 Wallenrode) in the east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, six kilometers southeast of the district town of Olecko .

history

The small Gutsdorf Lindenhof was founded in 1706 as a mining Liehr near Wielitzken . The place was only named Lindenhof from October 11, 1910.

Along with all of southern East Prussia , Lindenhof came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and has since been known as “Lipkowo” in Polish. Until 1945 Lindenhof was parish in the Evangelical Church of Wielitzken in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of Marggrabowa (Treuburg) in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today, on the Catholic side, Lipkowo belongs to the parish church of the Birth of Mary in Wieliczki in the Ełk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . Protestant church members living here stick to the churches in Ełk (Lyck) and Suwałki in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Lipkowo is not far from the voivodship road DW 655 and can be reached directly via a spur road.
