Gwibber is a microblogging client for the Gnome desktop environment . The computer program runs under Linux , is written in Python and is provided free of charge as free software under the GNU General Public License (GPL). As of Ubuntu 10.04, Gwibber is included in the official package sources .

Functions

Gwibber enables the use of various microblogging providers, social bookmark services and online communities without the need for a browser . In this way, for example, status reports can be received and sent from Twitter or messages can be posted on Facebook .

In previous versions of the software it was also possible to subscribe to RSS and Atom feeds and to change the status of Pidgin from within Gwibber.
