Gyanpur ( Hindi : ज्ञानपुर Jñānpur [ ˈɡjaːnpʊr ]) is a small town ( Nagar Panchayat ) in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
It is located in the east of Uttar Pradesh about 50 kilometers west of Varanasi and 65 kilometers east of Prayagraj . The river Ganges flows past eleven kilometers to the south. Gyanpur is the administrative seat of the Sant Ravidas Nagar district . At the time of the 2011 census, the city had 12,808 inhabitants.
