Gyde Hansen

Gyde Hansen (* 1947 in Wyk auf Föhr ) is a Danish linguist and translation specialist . She teaches as a professor at the Copenhagen Business School in the Department of International Business Communication.

Life

Gyde Hansen was born in Wyk auf Föhr in 1947. She studied French and English at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel until 1969 and taught German at the University of Copenhagen from 1972 . In 1973 she received Danish citizenship. After graduating as a Master of Arts from the University of Copenhagen in German and English, she followed the call of the Copenhagen Business School in 1978 . Her teaching there focused on the areas of linguistics, comparative grammar, intercultural communication, text analysis, semiotics and marketing, translation, translation theory and criticism, and empirical research methods. In 1983 she was awarded the Tietgen Prize for Research. Gyde Hansen obtained the academic degree Licentiatgrad linguæ mercantilis (lic.ling.merc., Today PhD) in comparative linguistics in 1985 and completed his habilitation in 2005 with the text Störquellen in Translation Processes . She has been a professor at Copenhagen Business School since 2006. Her main research interests include translation criticism, text revision, translator training, research methods, comparative linguistics and text analysis. In 2006 she was awarded the Hedorfs Fonds Pris for Erhverssproglig Forskning research award.
