The Hittfeld grammar school is a public grammar school in Hittfeld and is one of the nine grammar schools in the Harburg district . Since April 26, 2018, the school principal has been the senior director of studies, Frank Patyna.

history

The Hittfeld high school was founded in 1972. The building built in the same year was extended by a north-west wing and is in need of renovation. The school community is planning the renovation within the framework of various working groups and is involved in the district school committee meetings for the corresponding funds.

The Abitur after the twelfth grade , introduced in Lower Saxony in 2011 , was replaced by the previous G9 system in the 2014/2015 school year . The subjects are based on the curriculum of the state of Lower Saxony.

The Hittfeld Gymnasium works with several organizations outside the school. These include the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg , the Seevetal eV music school and the local sports club TSV Eintracht Hittfeld .

Among other things, the students are involved in the proTablet-Computer student initiative to use the latest technology in lessons. In addition, school bus pilots are trained in cooperation with the Harburg-Land traffic watch and the police. The student community offers tutoring as well as various learning and mentoring programs. The focus is on social media , use of the Internet and various preventive measures .

Musical , creative , athletic , biological and technical skills are developed and promoted within various working groups . In addition, special support programs are offered for gifted students.

Hitfeld grammar school maintains partnerships with schools in France , Finland , Russia , India and Uganda . There are regular student exchanges with schools in France and India .

The school supports local charitable institutions through the event “Social Day” .

The high school is the base of the media center of the Harburg district.

Awards

In 2015 the grammar school was awarded the title “ Environmental School in Europe ”. In the same year, the history department received the special prize from the Henning von Burgsdorff Foundation for the project "War and Peace 1914 - 1939 - 1945 - 1989".

In June 2018 the school received the award of the project " School without Racism - School with Courage ".
