The St. Kaspar High School is a private , state-approved school, founded in 1957 by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Neuenheerse and named after their saint Gaspare del Bufalo . An associated full boarding school was closed at the end of the 1999/2000 school year, and the premises are still used as the St Kaspar youth center .
In the 2014/2015 school year, around 600 pupils were taught by 50 teachers.
Goal setting
The grammar school pursues solid, scientifically sound teaching. A Christian spirit and a sense of responsibility should shape the students for their lives. The Catholic school is open to ecumenical concerns and is therefore open to students from other denominations.
School offers
The language sequence of the school is English, Latin, French.
The arts subjects are of particular importance, both in and outside of school. The grammar school has set up wind classes since the school year 2008/09 , in which all interested students can learn an orchestral instrument and participate in the success and motivation of making music together.
The school has a media room for the use of computers and new media in all subjects.
The lessons are supplemented by voluntary educational and leisure activities. These include choirs, wind groups and orchestras, theater groups, robots, typing courses, chess, monastery gardens, environmental groups and various sports disciplines. Students can take part in free midday and homework supervision. During the school holidays, vacation camps and trips are offered, guided and supervised by teachers.
Since 2009, the school operates one of Malteser supervised school medical service .
