Gymnocalycium netrelianum is a species of plant in the genus Gymnocalycium from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Gymnocalycium netrelianum grows individually or occasionally sprouts with green to slightly clawed , spherical to flattened spherical shoots with a sunk apex, which reach a diameter of 3 to 8 centimeters. The roughly 14 wide ribs are rounded. The five to eight bristle-like radial spines are brown to yellow and up to 1 centimeter long.
The light yellow flowers are up to 5 centimeters long. The spherical fruits are green and reach a diameter of 1 to 1.5 centimeters.
Distribution and systematics
Gymnocalycium netrelianum is common in Uruguay .
It was first described as Echinocactus netrelianus in 1853 by J. Labouret . Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose put the species in 1922 in the genus Gymnocalycium .
