Håvard Engelien (born March 16, 1969 ) is a former Norwegian skeleton athlete .

Håvard Engelien started playing skeleton in 1994 and has been a member of Norway's national team since 1996. He made his debut in La Plagne in January 1996 in the Skeleton World Cup and was 39. At the Skeleton World Championship in 1996 , a month later, he started in Calgary for the first time at a Skeleton World Cup and was 32nd with 14th place in Lake Placid he reached a first good international result at the 1997 Skeleton World Championship . In the 1997/98 season he won first World Cup points in La Plagne at the beginning of the season as 19th. It also remained the Norwegian’s best result in the World Cup. In 1996 Engelien competed in a world championship for the third time in St. Moritz and finished 25th. In Lillehammer , he also became Norwegian champion. In 2003 and 2005 he was runner- up behind Snorre Pedersen and in 2004 third. In 2004 he took part in a World Cup race in Winterberg for the last time, and in 2005 he contested his last international race. After his career he became a skeleton trainer and looked after Helge Grande Stærk and Knut Moe , among others .
