Héctor Medrano (born March 29, 1967 in Uruapan , Michoacán ) is a Mexican football coach and former player on the position of defender .

Life

player

Medrano played his first game in the Mexican Primera División on November 29, 1987 in the dress of the Correcaminos de la UAT in their 2-0 defeat at the CF Atlante . Just three weeks later he scored his first (and at the same time only!) First division goal in a 4-1 home win against the Tigres de la UANL on December 20, 1987, when he scored the 3-0 goal in the 77th minute. After only one season with the Correcaminos, to which he returned again for the 1994/95 season, he moved to Atlas Guadalajara , where he was under contract between 1988 and 1992.

Medrano played his last first division game on May 4, 1997 for Atlético Celaya in their 2-3 away defeat by Santos Laguna .

Trainer

At the end of the 2008/09 season of the old Primera División 'A' , Medrano prevailed with the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro team he was in charge of against Mérida FC and won the second division championship and thus promotion to the football club. With the promotion team at the beginning of the Apertura 2009 he had his only engagement as head coach at a club of the Mexican Primera División. But after five games without a win and with only two draws, he was dismissed on August 26, 2009 following the 1: 2 home defeat against Atlante.

In March 2010 Medrano was hired as head coach of the Leones Negros de la UdeG , for which he worked in the Liga de Ascenso until his resignation in late November 2011 .
