The Hôtel-Dieu in Gonesse , a commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the French region of Île-de-France , was built from the first quarter of the 13th century. The remains of the former Hôtel-Dieu on rue Bernard Février have been on the list of cultural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1937 .

history

The Hôtel-Dieu was founded in 1208 by Pierre du Thillay ("bailli de Caen, sénéchal de Normandie, prévôt de Paris et bailli du domaine royal d'Orléans"), who was in the favor of the French king Philip II .

The main building, in the form of a chapel , was enlarged in 1621. When a new hospital was built on the opposite side of the street between 1839 and 1841, the old buildings were left to decay. Most of these were demolished in 1955, so that only the arches of the former cloister can be seen today. The columns are adorned with carved capitals .
