The Hôtel des évêques de Maillezais (German House of the Bishops of Maillezais ) in Fontenay-le-Comte , a town in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region , was built in the second quarter of the 17th century. The Hôtel particulier at 9 rue du Pont-aux-Chèvres has been protected as a Monument historique since 1988 .

The house, which stands east of the Catholic parish church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption , was built in the Renaissance style. According to recent research, the bishops of Maillezais did not live in the building when they resided in Fontenay-le-Comte from 1631 to 1648.

The city palace was built on the cellar vaults of the previous building from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century erected.
