Hôtel des Postes in Bar-le-Duc

The Hôtel des Postes in Bar-le-Duc , a French town in the Meuse department in Lorraine , was built from 1926 to 1928. The main post office in Art Deco style on 32 Boulevard de la Rochelle was built according to plans by the architect Guillaume Tronchet (1867-1959). On the facade, the inscription TELEPHONE POSTES TELEGRAPHE is carved into the stone of the facade above the entrance .

In 1988, the three leaded glass windows in the customer hall were added to the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique .

The lead glass windows were created by Jacques Grüber (1870–1936). Before being installed in the post office, they were exhibited at the Salon des artistes français (1926) and the Salon des arts décoratifs de Paris . The motifs represent the modern times with new means of transport, the train and the plane, and modern communication with the telegraph and the telephone.
