The Höfelbach is a small stream in the city of Ostfildern . It rises in Ruit auf den Fildern , at the Samariterstift , and flows from Ruit to Scharnhausen , where it flows into the Körsch . The Höfelbach has a total length of a good two kilometers and is one meter wide at its widest point. It only carries water in spring and autumn and runs mostly underground.

Stream

The Höfelbach rises from a well near the Samaritan monastery , flows underground under the Samaritan monastery and then flows along the meadow on the grounds of the Justinus Kerner School . From there it flows underground again under the Justinus-Kerner-Weg and comes out of the ground north of the Ruiter sports hall. There it flows to some residential buildings as well as the Weiherhag kindergarten and the car dealership on the Fildern east of Ruit. At the northern entrance to Scharnhausen, the Höfelbach flows from the left into the Körsch. In the right-hand corner of the mouth, the Scharnhausen volcanic vent is located on the spur ; an old quarrying well below one hectare indicates that basalt tuff was quarried here in the past.
