Hökensås is a mountain plateau in Västergötland in Sweden that stretches along the west bank of Lake Vättern . It is a geological eyrie , reaches a height of 345 meters above sea level and runs from Jönköping in the south about 100 kilometers to the north to Lake Viken .
Hökensås is predominantly forested and the central parts have been nature reserves of category V on the IUCN scale since 1998 . The Västra Vätterleden hiking trail runs through Hökensås and is around 150 kilometers long and connects to the Bergslag trail .
