Höpfigheim is a 1973 incorporated district of Steinheim an der Murr in the Ludwigsburg district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

Höpfigheim has belonged to the counts or dukes of Württemberg since the 14th century, who passed it on as a fief , u. a. to the hunters of Gärtringen, who also built the small castle in the center of the village. This was originally a moated castle (the only one in the Ludwigsburg district ) until the moat was filled in in the 18th century and the train bridge was replaced by a stone bridge. The incorporation to Steinheim took place on January 1, 1973.
