The Kummerhy

The Kummerhy barrow is located on the outskirts of Süderbrarup in the direction of Norderbrarup, directly on the tracks of the museum railway near the Thorsberger Moor in Schleswig-Holstein .

The Kummerhy is a burial mound excavated in 1861 from the late Bronze Age (around 650–500 BC). In its center a small stone box was found containing corpse burns.

Another dead person was buried unburned within a stone pack , presumably during the Viking Age (9th / 10th century AD). At this time the outer curb circle was created and a hill about 15 m in diameter was raised.

Outside the stone circle there is a menhir about two meters high with more than 45 bowls .
