The Heidegold Group is a German group of companies in the food industry and, according to Foodwatch 2015, is number two on the German egg market. According to insider information, several million laying hens can be assigned to the group. The group's headquarters are in Fintel, Lower Saxony .

The company was founded in 1949 by Friedrich Behrens and Friedrich Schröder. The management company of the group is now Heidegold Holding GmbH & Co. KG after a restructuring caused by the departure of the partner Behrens. The company Hühnerhof Heidegold GmbH is the sales company of the Heidegold Group, which was one of the pioneers of alternative husbandry forms even before the Europe-wide ban on cage farming. In addition to fresh eggs, they also market liquid egg products.

A survey by Greenpeace in summer 2014 showed that the laying hens of the Heidegold Group are fed 100% with animal feed without genetic engineering . This is ensured through our own analyzes and external certification bodies.

According to its 2014 annual accounts, the group is already meeting the future challenges with regard to the keeping of laying hens by opening experimental stalls. The keeping of animals with untreated beak or other breeds, so-called dual -purpose chickens , is tested here.

Packing stations are located in Halberstadt , Kritzkow (district of Laage near Rostock), Ahrensdorf near Berlin and Hottelstedt in Thuringia.
