The Salem Hospital is a hospital in the city of Bern Altenberg quarters in Switzerland . history
The beginnings of the Salem-Spital go back to the Diakoniewerk of Sophie Dändliker-von Wurstemberger . In 1844 she founded a hospital on Aarbergergasse in Bern to help the needy. After her death in 1878, her husband Johann Friedrich Dändliker continued her work. In 1888, the Salem Hospital he built began operations. Over time, the hospital has been continuously expanded and expanded.
In 2002 the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group took over the Salem Hospital. In 2004 an emergency center was opened.
