description

The Annan Old Parish Church, built in 1789, is located on Church Street in central Annan. The classicist building has an elongated floor plan. The symmetrically structured, south-facing front is preceded by a five-story bell tower. The main portal is located at the foot of the tapering tower. Doric columns flank the door , which closes with a window , and carry a triangular gable . A Venetian window is let into it. Tower clocks are installed on all sides on the fourth floor. Above it, the tower tapers to an octagonal segment with arched windows . The tower closes with a pointed stone helmet with a weather vane .

Two arched windows each flank the tower. The sides of the building are three axes wide. Former central entrances have now been closed with masonry. While elongated windows at ground level are installed, arched windows illuminate the gallery. The facades are finished with cornices . The masonry consists of quarry stone , which was roughly cut into blocks and built into layered masonry . Edges are set off with natural stone while corner stones and the masonry in the entrance area are rusticated . The building closes with a slate hipped roof .
