The H. Klammt AG was a medium-sized construction company in Berlin , which employed a maximum of about 2,500 people.

Company history

The construction company Hermann Klammt was founded in Stettin in 1878 . In 1925, Dr.-Ing. Hugo Klammt founded H. Klammt GmbH in Berlin. After 1945 the Szczecin construction business was given up and Berlin became the headquarters. After Hugo Klammt died in 1954, the company was converted into a stock corporation two years later .

In 1962, the Münster- based construction company Karl Batteux was taken over by H. Klammt AG. 1968 H. Klammt AG joined as a limited partner in the Müller Altvatter Construction Stuttgart one.

In 1972 the AG for Industry and Transport (AGIV) acquired all Klammt shares and became the sole owner of the construction company. Klammt developed in the 1980s to one in West Berlin important construction industry construction companies and led many construction projects in the construction and civil engineering from.

In 1994, together with the Wayss & Freytag AG , the GBS equipment and construction Service GmbH founded. GBS looks after the equipment park of H. Klammt AG and Wayss & Freytag AG, which also belonged to AGIV. The building yard was located in Ludwigsfelde .

In 1995, H. Klammt AG moved from its original office on Joachimstaler Strasse in Berlin-Charlottenburg to the newly built office building on Augusta-Victoria-Allee in the same district where it can still be found today as a real estate company .

In 1996, AGIV separated from the “Construction” division and sold the Klammt shares to the Hollandsche Beton Groep (HBG) via Wayss & Freytag AG . In the same year, the corporation was converted back into a limited liability company. GBS became HBG Services, which continued to look after the construction equipment of H. Klammt GmbH, Wayss & Freytag AG and now also Müller Altvatter , now BAM Deutschland AG .

Four years later the H. Klammt GmbH was dissolved in favor of Wayss & Freytag AG due to the tough competition on the Berlin construction market. The capital of H. Klammt GmbH went to HBG and the construction equipment was partly sold and partly transferred to HBG Services , but is still often used by Wayss & Freytag AG on their construction sites.

Others

The company helped out in 1990 at the Pink Floyd concert “The Wall”. In order to move several large puppets for the stage show, Klammt AG built two Peiner tower cranes.

Klammt built many famous Berlin buildings, including the Europa-Center , the ICC Berlin , the Kant-Dreieck , the Lindencorso and the Max-Liebermann-Haus .
