HD 23596 is a sun-like star in the constellation Perseus, 165 light-years away . It has an apparent magnitude of 7.3 mag and is orbited by the exoplanet candidate HD 23596 b .

In 2002 Perrier et al. a potential extrasolar planet orbiting this star with an orbital period of around 1565 days using the radial velocity method . The object's orbit has a major semi-axis of approx. 2.8 astronomical units and an eccentricity of 0.29.
