HD 283750 is a late main sequence star in the constellation Taurus, almost 60 light years away from Earth . With an apparent brightness of 8.1 mag, it can no longer be seen with the naked eye, even under optimal observation conditions. HD 283750 is classified as a BY Draconis variable and has the variable designation V833 Tauri . Together with the white dwarf WD 0433 + 27, it forms a pair of independent movements and is possibly a member of the Hyades or the Hyades Current .
Spectroscopic companion
In 1996 Michel Mayor et al. a spectroscopic companion with a minimum mass of 50 Jupiter masses that orbits this star with a period of 1.8 days. This object is believed to be a low mass star, but it could also be a brown dwarf .
