HD 70573 is a main sequence star of spectral class G in the constellation Hydra, about 150 light years from Earth . It has an apparent magnitude of 8.7 mag. HD 70573 has been identified as both a member of the Hercules Lyra Association and a member of the Pleiades Moving Group . HD 70573 is a very young star, in the range of 100 million years.

A study published in 2007 by Setiawan et al. disclosed a companion around HD 70573, which could be an exoplanet . The discovered fluctuations in radial velocity have a period of around 850 days and a semi-amplitude of around 150 m ∙ s −1 . This suggests a companion with a minimum mass of around 6 Jupiter's masses. The companion bears the systematic designation HD 70573 b . The major semi-axis of the orbit calculated for the companion measures just under 1.8  AU . The star is surrounded by a protoplanetary disk. Due to the low age of the system, it is potentially an interesting observation object for investigating the formation of planetary systems.
