HD 93250 is one of the most massive stars currently known. Its mass is currently around 118  M . HD 93250 belongs to the open star cluster Trumpler 16 (Tr 16) in the constellation Carina . Its spectral class is given as O4 III (fc) or O3.5 V ((f +)). HD 93250 is the strongest X-ray source among the stars with spectral class O in the Carina Nebula.

Single or double star

It is uncertain whether the HD 93250 is a single or a double star. According to the following two sources, it is believed to be a single star. According to this source, however, the HD 93250 is a binary star system with 2 stars of the spectral class O. The estimated masses of the two stars are 47 and 43 M ☉, respectively .
