The HG Commerciale Handelsgenossenschaft of the Swiss Builders' Association , HGC for short, is a Swiss building materials dealer . The company is headquartered in Zurich and has a network of sales outlets across Switzerland with 40 building material sales outlets and 19 exhibitions with wall and floor coverings.
Founded in 1899 and organized in the legal form of a cooperative, HG Commerciale belongs to its over 3800 members. The company employs around 800 people and generated sales of CHF 800 million in 2018.
The core business of HG Commerciale is the trade in building materials as well as cement , plaster , tools and wall and floor coverings (until 2009 under the name Sponagel Baukeramik ). The company does not produce itself, but has interests in suppliers and other building material dealers. Customers are primarily the construction industry in the construction and civil engineering and the finishing trades.
In addition to the actual trade, the HG Commerciale provides other related services for its members, including storage and delivery, individual product search, sale of quality tools and electrical machines as well as personal equipment, cost accounting, conclusion of building guarantee insurance and support with vocational training.
