The HK Berkut ( Ukrainian ХК Беркут ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey club from Brovary , which took part in the Professional Hockey League between 2011 and 2013 . The club usually plays its home games in the TRZ Terminal , which can accommodate 1,500 spectators. Individual games will be played in the 6,850-seat sports palace in Kiev .

history

Between 1997 and 2002 there was an ice hockey club called HK Berkut Kiev , which participated in the East European Hockey League and was Ukrainian champion several times. In 2002 this association was dissolved due to financial problems.

In 2004 an amateur team was founded under the name HK Berkut, which took part in the second division (Division B) of Ukraine from 2005 . Since the 2005/06 season, this team, which consisted mainly of ex-professionals, played in the top division of Ukraine and was runner-up in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010.

In 2013, the club withdrew its professional team from match operations.
