The higher technical federal teaching and research institute Bregenz is a higher technical teaching institute (short: HTL) in the city of Bregenz in Vorarlberg .

The HTL-Bregenz currently offers the following training focuses:

  • a so-called technical school (4 years old, degree without Matura) for mechanical engineering and
  • a preparatory and advanced course in electrical engineering with a focus on automation technology.
  • a preparatory and advanced course in mechanical engineering with a focus on automation technology.

HTL-Bregenz has a research institute in the fields of mechanical engineering and plastics technology.

architecture

The educational establishment was built from 1928 to 1937 according to the plans of the architects Rudolf Melichar, Karl Breuer and Oswald Tauber and is a listed building . The four-storey main wing faces Reichsstraße, has a flat-roofed corner tower in front and shows a clinker brick facade with continuous ribbon windows. In the front garden there is a Hessen stone with an inscription on the Hessen regiment, which was in Bregenz from 1901 to 1908.

The school received an extension from 1990 to 1997 according to the plans of the architects Carlo Baumschlager , Dietmar Eberle and Norbert Schweitzer.
