Carlo Baumschlager

Carlo (Karl) Baumschlager (* 1956 in Bregenz , Vorarlberg ) is an Austrian architect .

Carlo Baumschlager studied industrial design a . 1975 to 1978 at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . a. with Hans Hollein and Architektur u. a. with Oswald Mathias Ungers and Wilhelm Holzbauer , with whom he graduated in 1982.

In 1982 he became a member of the Vorarlberger Baukünstler . From 1985 to 2010, Baumschlager ran the Baumschlager Eberle architectural office with Dietmar Eberle . Numerous projects in the extensive work have been published in books and various architecture magazines.

In 2010, Carlo Baumschlager and Jesco Hutter founded the new Baumschlager Hutter Partners office with two locations in Dornbirn , Austria and Widnau , Switzerland. Carlo Baumschlager now has six locations with Baumschlager Hutter Partners in Dornbirn and Vienna in Austria, Munich in Germany, Heerbrugg, St. Gallen and Zurich in Switzerland. The quality of their work from over 300 realized projects worldwide is proven by a large number of prizes, recognitions and competition wins.

From 1994 to 1997 Baumschlager taught in New York at Syracuse University and in Stuttgart , in 2002 the Somerville Lectureship at the University of Calgary in Canada and since 2007 he has worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .
