The Hachinosu Peak ( Japanese 蜂 の 巣 山 Hachinosu-yama , German ' beehive point ' ) is 45 m, the highest point on the East Ongul Island off the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 300 m east of Nishino-ura Cove .
Surveys and aerial photographs of a Japanese Antarctic expedition , the participants of which gave the descriptive naming, were used to map this summit. The US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1968. In Norway it bears the name Kuben ( German cube ).
