The name Hackland refers to an earlier forest floor that was hacked out or cleared.

history

The old place name was first mentioned in 1810 and recorded on the topographical map of the Rhineland in 1824 . In 1815/16 the place had eleven inhabitants. In 1832 the Hackland belonged to the Dorper Rotte of the rural outskirts of the parish and the city of Elberfeld . The place categorized as Ackerhof according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district was designated as aufm Hackland and at that time had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings. At that time there were eleven residents in the village, one Catholic and ten Protestant.

From 1850 also entered in the address book. Hackland is no longer explicitly noted on the map on the map for the last time in 1953, on the map from 1963. There is no historical building structure, the location was built over with single-family houses in the 1960s.
