The name is interpreted as a personal name 'Nutz' or 'Nod', but could also come from 'util'.

history

In 1832 the place belonged to the Hülsbeck Rotte of the rural outskirts of the Elberfeld parish . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , was designated as Im Nützenberg and at that time had eight residential buildings. At that time, 75 residents lived in the place, 13 of them Catholic and 62 Protestant. There were further mentions from 1850 to 1858, in the address book 'Nützenberg' was first mentioned in 1868/70.

The place has completely merged with the further development of the 20th century.

The Schöne Aussicht restaurant has been preserved as a historical structure of the scattered settlement from the first half of the 19th century . The residential buildings at Nützenberger Strasse 262 , Nützenberger Strasse 248, Kyffhäuser Strasse 60, 70, 74 and 81 also date from the 19th century, while Kyffhäuser Strasse 81 is now a kindergarten. Three school buildings were built at the end of the 19th century: Kyffhäuser Strasse 98 (1871), Nützenberger Strasse 288 (1891) and Nützenberger Strasse 242 (1898). The Villa Simons also dates from the first half of the 19th century.
