Nützenberger Strasse 295
The residential and commercial building Nützenberger Straße 295 is one of the oldest preserved buildings on the Nützenberg in the Wuppertal district of Elberfeld-West . It has been known as the Schöne Aussicht restaurant since at least the 1850s .
Building description
The two-story half - timbered house with a crooked roof dates from the first half of the 19th century. The facade is slated, the side facing the street has five axes with lattice windows . The east side is triaxial, on the sloping south side there is a terrace that can be used for outdoor catering. On the west gable , the Saalbau Nützenberger Straße 297 was added to the restaurant in 1897 , which has also been a listed building since 1986, but it is an independent building.
history
The restaurant, formerly a popular restaurant on the outskirts of the city of Elberfeld , was a horse changing station on the historic Nützenberger Strasse. At the beginning of the 20th century it was known as To the beautiful view at Fritz Vohwinkel.
On December 12, 1985 the building was recognized as a monument and entered in the list of monuments of the city of Wuppertal. The restaurant has been closed since the end of 2013 and there is no new tenant (as of September 2019).
