Hans Joachim de Bruyn-Ouboter (2012)

Hans Joachim de Bruyn-Ouboter (born October 10, 1947 in Wuppertal - Barmen ; † September 20, 2016 in Essen ) was senior lecturer a. D. at the Gymnasium Sedanstrasse . He was known as a local researcher , historian and author of numerous publications on Wuppertal regional history and in particular the history of Barmens.

Live and act

Bruyn-Ouboter was chairman of the Wuppertal department of the Bergisches Geschichtsverein from 2015 until his death . Before that, he had been Deputy Chairman since 1993. He was elected Chairman at the Annual General Meeting on March 5, 2015, replacing Sigrid Lekebusch in this role .

He was the first chairman of the Bergischer Ring and a member of the advisory board of the Rhenish Association for Monument Preservation and Landscape Protection eV , Regional Association Wuppertal, Solingen, Remscheid and Deputy Chairman of the Friends of the House of City History in Wuppertal eV Since 1995, he was an expert citizen in the Wuppertal Committee for Monument Preservation , now a committee for urban development, an activity as a consultant.

Bruyn-Ouboter died in a hospital in Essen.
