The port of Šilutė ( Lithuanian Šilutės uostas ; or Šilutė small boat port , Šilutės mažųjų laivų uostas ) is an inland port in Lithuania in the rajon municipality of Šilutė , in the western part of the city of Šilutė . It is five kilometers from the mouth of the Šyša in the Memel , 13 kilometers from the Curonian Lagoon and not far from the road 141 ( Kaunas - Jurbarkas - Klaipėda ).
The marina has 100 berths for small boats or 48 ships. The port is equipped with a crane as well as electricity and water connections. The depth of the harbor basin is two meters. The port is used as a marina for sport boats ( sailing and motor yachts ).
renovation
From July 2006 to October 2008 the municipality renewed the port with the support of the European Union as part of the project "Water tourism and (leisure) infrastructure, marinas and media installation, development on the Curonian Lagoon and the Memel Delta". The port was equipped with twelve water and electricity supply columns, two parking spaces (for cars and buses) were set up. Companies UAB "Nemuno deltos projektai", UAB "Šilutės hidroprojektas", UAB "Klaipėdos hidrotechnika" and UAB "Šilutės melioracija" worked on the project. The total cost was 12,916,232 litas (around 3.3 million euros ). The project was funded by the structural funds of the European Union .
