Neukölln harbor
The port of Neukölln is an inland port in the Berlin district of Neukölln .
History, structure and use
The port was created in the course of the construction of the Teltow Canal between 1900 and 1906 and is operated by the Berliner Hafen- und Lagerhausgesellschaft . It consists of an upper port and a lower port. Both are connected by the Neukölln lock . The Oberhafen can be reached via Lahnstrasse and Am Oberhafen . Goods that are used in recycling are preferably loaded here. The commercial transport concept of the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development provides for the port to be operated as a “bimodal, inner-city logistics center for construction and recyclable materials”. It is connected via the Neukölln shipping canal to the north and via the Britz-Ost port with the Britz connecting canal in the east and the Teltow canal in the west and south.
