Hafizabad is a city in the Hafizabad District of Punjab Province near Gujranwala . It was founded by Hafiz who the favorite of Mughal emperor Akbar I was. The majority of citizens speak Punjabi , but Urdu is also spoken and understood.

history

The history of Hafizabad goes back to ancient times. In 327 BC During the invasion of Alexander , the area around Sandal Bar was well populated. Many major cities were located in the area and many regional cities were built under the rule of Maharajas and Rajas. Xuanzang visited Sandal in the 6th century . At the beginning of the 7th century the east of India and Pakistan were colonized by Rajputs . In 997 Mahmud of Ghazni took over the rule of the Ghaznavid dynasty , which was ruled by his father Sultan Sebüktigin . The cities of Multan and Rawalpindi remained in the hands of the Rajputs until 1193. The Sultanate of Delhi and the Mughal Empire took control of the regions after the Rajputs. The Punjab region became Muslim because of intense missionary work by Sufi scholars. During the partition of India , many Muslims emigrated to Pakistan, while the Sikhs went to India and Muslims from India settled in Hafizabad. Hafizabad is 48 km west of Gujranwala. Hafizabad is connected to Gujranwala by Gujranwala Road. Hafizabad is 60 km from Wazirabad and is characterized by agriculture.

Hafizabad has a subtropical climate . The monsoon season runs from July and September. The average monthly rainfall is 50 to 75 mm.

Industry

Hafizabad is responsible for most of Pakistan's rice exports. That is why Hafizabad is called a rice city. Another important industry is cotton production. Faislabad industrialists negotiate directly with Hafizabad industrialists. Cotton production is an important economic factor for Hafizabad.

Agriculture

The following rice varieties are grown in Hafizabad: Basmati 385, Basmati 386, Super Karnal, 1121 Sella, Ery Nine, Erey Six, Super Fan and KS 282. White Pearl Rice is the best-known variety from Hafizabad.
