Rooster green

Hahnengrün is a district of the municipality Kirchenpingarten . It lies at the foot of the southwestern edge of the Fichtelgebirge and is one of the smallest places in the Bayreuth district . In 2007, Hahnengrün had 13 residents.

location

The place is about 20 kilometers east of Bayreuth , 35 kilometers northwest of Weiden and 25 kilometers southwest of Wunsiedel . The nearest places within two kilometers are Grub in the southeast, Eckartsreuth in the southwest and Muckenreuth in the west.

Worth seeing

A destination for tourists is the Gänskopfhütte, an accommodation hut of the Fichtelgebirgsverein , local group Weidenberg. Hiking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter can be found in the forest above Hahnengrün to Mehlmeisel .

The record snow depth in winter 2005/2006 was 3.7 meters. Hahnengrün lies at an altitude of 685 meters above sea level.
