Hakkı Akil

Hakkı Akil (born January 5, 1953 in Kargı ) is a Turkish ambassador .

Life

After graduating from the Galatasaray High School in 1972 , he obtained a master's degree in economics from the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux IV in 1977, before joining the foreign service in 1979. Akil became second-class legation secretary in Damascus in 1982 and consul in Paris in 1984 . From 1987 to 1988 he was at the École nationale d'administration . From 1990 he was the first-class delegation secretary in Paris and headed various departments until in 1996 he became Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva and Deputy Permanent Representative to the WTO . From 2001 to 2003 he was a member of the Budget Committee of the Energy Charter Secretariat. From January 3, 2005 to April 23, 2005 he was ambassador in Ashgabat . From May 7, 2008 to October 16, 2009 he was Ambassador to Abu Dhabi . In 2009 he became Ministerial Director of the Budget Department. From January 20, 2011 to April 1, 2014, he was ambassador to Rome . He has been the ambassador to Paris since April 14, 2014 .

Hakkı Akil is married with one child and speaks French and English fluently.
