Şefik Vural Altay

Şefik Vural Altay (* 1959 in Ankara ) is a Turkish diplomat .

Life

Sefik Vural Altay graduated after Abitur at the Çankaya High School a study of administrative sciences at the Technical University of the Middle East .

In 1984 he joined the Foreign Service of Turkey within the budget department. In 1985 he was “Third Class Legation Secretary” in the Consular Department, then in 1986 “Third Class Legation Secretary” in Nairobi and from 1989 consul in Essen . In 1991, Şefik was "First Class Legation Secretary" in the Eastern Europe and Caucasian Countries Department, until he moved to the NATO Defense College in Rome and Baku in 1993 as "First Class Legation Secretary" . From 1995 he was "First Class Legation Secretary" at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, where from 1998 he headed the Arms Control and Disarmament Department. From 2000 onwards he was a delegation counselor to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, before moving to Burgas as Consul General in 2003 . From 2005 he headed the Security and NATO Departments. Since 2007 he has been Ministerial Director in the Energy, Water and Environment Department. From October 19, 2009 to December 3, 2014, he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Abu Dhabi .

Şefik is fluent in English , German and Italian .
