As prosimians (prosimiae) to the were primates belonging lemurs , Loriartigen and tarsiers and partly also the giant gliders and sometimes the tree shrews summarized. Traditionally they were compared to the monkeys , but according to modern knowledge they are no more closely related to each other than to these. Together with the monkeys, the Koboldmakis form the family group of the dry- nosed primates . These and the lemurs and lory-like primates grouped together as wet-nosed primates are in turn more closely related to each other than to the giant gliders, and all of these grouped together are closer to each other than to the pointed squirrels.
Goblins have in common with some wet-nosed primates their small body size, their nocturnal activity, the large eyes, the mobile ears, the feeding of insects, the V-shaped lower jaw, the non-ossified lower jaw symphysis, the two-horned uterus and the mode of locomotion known as vertical clinging and leaping . As with the wet-nosed primates, their feet have cleaning claws .
The shrews became due to the presence of a postorbital bar (also called postorbital clasp, i.e. the anterior / outer part of the eye socket has a complete bony frame), the elastic, partly cartilaginous lower tongue and due to peculiarities in the structure of the reproductive organs, muscles and skull Assigned to half-monkeys.
