The Halfway River is an orographic left tributary of the Peace River in the Peace River Regional District in the northeast of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Halfway River has its origin in Robb Lake in the Muskwa Ranges , a mountain range of the northern Canadian Rocky Mountains . It flows through the mountains in an easterly direction. After leaving the mountains, the Halfway River turns to the south-southeast. It takes on the right tributaries of the Chowade River and Graham River . Then he passes the reservation of the Halfway River First Nation . In the lower reaches of the Cameron River flows into the river on the left. Finally it flows into the Peace River at Attachie , halfway between Hudson's Hope and Fort St. John . The British Columbia Highway 29 crosses the river shortly before the mouth. The Halfway River has a length of about 220 km. Its catchment area covers 9400 km². The mean discharge is 75 m³ / s.
