Halil Karataş (born January 31, 1980 in Ödemiş ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

Karataş started in 1998 in the youth of Muğlaspor with club football and a year later was involved in the professional squad of this club. After he was able to fight for a regular place in the first season, he was one of the seeded players in the fourth division for the next three years. For the 2002/03 season he moved to third division club Tarsus İdman Yurdu . At this new club, he made it straight to the starting eleven and kept this position during his five years. In the summer of 2007 Karataş then moved within the league to Şanlıurfa Belediyespor . For this club he only played one season and then went to city rivals Şanlıurfaspor . Şanlıurfaspor also left after one season and then played in sequence at Fethiyespor , Alanyaspor , Turgutluspor and Tokatspor .

In the summer of 2012, Karataş hired for the second time in his career at Fethiyespor . In the 2012/13 season he reached the play-off finals with the team. In the final they prevailed against Hatayspor and thus secured promotion to the TFF 1st Lig . After the rise, Karataş moved to Hatayspor, opponent in the final game.
