history

The village was probably founded in the 13th century. The first written mention of Pawlicow was in 1341 in a document from King John of Luxembourg as a fief of the royal castle of Pürglitz . In 1585 Pawlikow was removed from the loan relationship and became an allodial property. In 1660 the Knights of Renschberg ( Renšpergár z Renšperku ) inherited the estate on Skřivaň. Later it was attached to the Kruschowitz rule . In 1685 Leopold I sold the crown lords of Kruschowitz and Pürglitz to Ernst Joseph Count von Waldstein . In 1731 Johann Joseph Graf von Waldstein bequeathed both dominions to his daughter and universal heiress Maria Anna Fürstin zu Fürstenberg , who in 1756 united them with the Nischburg estate to form a family entailment of 400,000 guilders. Half of the inheritance went to her sons Joseph Wenzel zu Fürstenberg-Stühlingen and Karl Egon I zu Fürstenberg , the other half to her daughters Henriette Fürstin von Thurn und Taxis and Maria Theresia zu Fürstenberg. She appointed her second-born son Karl Egon I as Fideikommisserbeer, who also acquired the shares of his siblings through compensation. After the death of Karl Egon I, his eldest son Philipp Fürst zu Fürstenberg († 1790) inherited the property in 1787, followed by his children Karl Gabriel zu Fürstenberg († 1799) and Leopoldine Princess of Hesse-Rothenburg-Rheinfels. In 1803, the female heirs renounced a family settlement in favor of the minor Karl Egon II zu Fürstenberg and the princely and landgrave houses of Fürstenberg; Joachim Egon Landgraf von Fürstenberg was appointed as administrator until he came of age in 1817.

The school was built in 1780. In 1843 Pavlikov consisted of 65 houses with 537 inhabitants. In the village there was a branch church of St. Katharina, a community school, a farm with sheep and a communal floor. The parish was Groß-Augezd . Until the middle of the 19th century, Pawlikow remained subject to the Kruschowitz rule, including the feudal estates of Wschetat and Panaschow-Augezd .

After the abolition of patrimonial , Pavlíkov / Pawlikow formed a municipality in the district of Rakonitz and the judicial district of Rakonitz from 1850 with the district of Chlum . After the death of Karl Egon II zu Fürstenberg in 1854, his second-born son Max Egon I inherited the Fideikommiss Pürglitz. In 1880 Chlum broke away and formed its own community. In 1896 a post office was established. Until the 19th century, Pavlíkov was an agricultural village. In 1929 the Fürstenberg family sold the property to the Czechoslovak state. At that time, many residents worked in the Lubná mines and the Rakovník factories. In 1932 there were 833 people living in Pavlíkov. During the German occupation , the village was given the German name Paulshof . The kindergarten was founded in 1948. In 1972 a culture house was built. On January 1, 1980, Chlum (with Ryšín), Skřivaň and Tytry were incorporated. Pavlíkov was elevated to Městys on May 29, 2007 . The largest company in Pavlíkov is RKZ, formerly keramický závod Šamotka. The eponymous district Pavlíkov today has about 620 inhabitants.

The church, deconsecrated in 1950, became the legal entity of the Rakovník District Museum in 1981, which it wanted to develop into a depositary.
